Welcome! My name is Olivia Rittenhouse, and I am a freshman at Davidson College. The following website is designed to explore my first semester within the Humanities program.
I connected all the separate units and academic work into focusing on one main and recurring theme: The body is a living, adaptable archive.
As I read “The Artifact” by Jordan Kisner within Dr. Tamura’s unit, I was truly fascinated with the idea of the body as an archive that can allow humans to understand stories, feelings, and lives through it. Not only that, but the body alters itself to external factors that can change a person and their story. While the body houses and archives many internal feelings and stories, it externally conveys them to others.
